2023

Food aids

During the last quarter of 2023, the foundation “Cœur à Keur” ensured a monthly supply of food for the children of its partner centers. This initiative is part of our mission to ensure the well-being and growth of children through a healthy, balanced diet.

Medical check-ups

Starting in 2023, the “Coeur à Keur” Foundation made a strong commitment to the health of the children at its partner centers by initiating comprehensive health check-ups for each of them. The overriding aim of this ambitious project was to establish a precise initial state of health for each child, enabling any early medical problems to be identified and personalized follow-up and care plans to be put in place. The results of this initiative have been significant, revealing, for example: a high rate of nutritional deficiencies which could be addressed, enabling the implementation of targeted interventions to improve the overall health and well-being of beneficiaries.

School support

To optimize the educational path of the children at the Saints Innocents center in Lobogo, the “Cœur à Keur” Foundation has deployed targeted and effective educational support. This commitment has resulted in the full payment of school fees for the only pupil enrolled in a Catholic school. What’s more, for all the children, the Foundation has purchased all the textbooks required by the program. In order to consolidate what has been learned in the classroom and to help them succeed, a qualified tutor was also made available for reinforcement courses.

Christmas festivities

In keeping with its commitment to the well-being of children, the “Cœur à Keur” Foundation brightened up the year 2023 by organizing joyous Christmas festivities at each of its partner centers. These special moments offered the children moments of joy, sharing and conviviality, creating a warm and festive atmosphere so essential to their development. Through playful activities, carols, gifts and festive meals, the Foundation wanted to bring the magic of Christmas into the daily lives of these children, reinforcing the sense of belonging and happiness within each center.

HFRC kitchen roof renovation

Improving the living environment is a fundamental pillar of the “Cœur à Keur” Foundation’s action, reflecting our conviction that a safe and healthy environment is essential to the well-being and development of children. True to this commitment, the Foundation has provided concrete support to the Home and Family Reinsertion Center (HFRC) by actively contributing to the renovation of its kitchen roof. This significant project transformed a potentially unhealthy space into a meal preparation area that meets the most stringent hygiene and food safety standards.Home and Family Reinsertion Center

Participation in the Hambisela project

In 2023, the “Cœur à Keur” Foundation, placing disability at the heart of its actions, supported 13 children with cerebral palsy (CP) by training mothers in the Hambisela approach. This included physiotherapy sessions to improve mobility and posture, speech therapy sessions for communication and swallowing disorders, the provision of specific medicines and the supply of adapted equipment such as orthopedic shoes and posture orthoses.

Facade refreshment

Concerned about the well-being of the children it supports, the “Cœur à Keur” Foundation initiated a significant project in 2023 to improve the environment of the “Sainte Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus” center in Tchatchou. Aware of the positive impact of a pleasant living environment on the development of young people, the Foundation fully financed the refurbishment of the center’s facades. This initiative involved providing all the necessary painting materials, chosen for their quality and bright colors, as well as paying the full cost of hiring a qualified professional.
