Took shape in 2017 following a deep desire to help orphans and vulnerable children. It was born with the aim of creating a significant, positive and lasting impact in the lives of these disadvantaged children.
In response to the urgent call of this target, the founders set out in 2017 to provide material, financial and psychological support to selected orphanages.
This commitment has grown over time, strengthening their resolve. Driven by this conviction, they took the bold decision to give formal structure to their philanthropic action, by officially creating the Fondation Cœur à Keur. Registered under the number/N°0397/MISP/DC/SGM/DAIC/SAAC/SA of December 14, 2023, the organization is approaching a decisive turning point in its history.
The Foundation’s name “Cœur à Keur” expresses the vision and deep aspirations of its founders. The word “heart” represents human empathy and compassion for vulnerable children, symbolizing an emotional commitment to their well-being. It also embodies the idea of a comprehensive, holistic approach to solving the challenges these children face.
On the other hand, “Keur”, a Wolof word meaning “home”, evokes a warm, family environment. By combining the two terms, “Cœur à Keur” reflects the Foundation’s aim to offer more than just one-off assistance. It aims to create an optimal home environment where vulnerable children can develop to their full potential, receiving the care and love they need to grow and flourish as if they were at home.
